Top King are one of the traditional Thai names, and they occupy a very specific place in the market: they are the cushiony ones.

How Top King fit

Plusher, softer padding than most, with a well-balanced feel and strong knuckle protection. Where Fairtex are firm and direct — you feel every shot land — Top King sit at the other end of that scale.

If you have tried Fairtex and found them too firm, Top King are the answer. If you want a glove that tells you exactly what your fist just did, they are not.

The gloves

Standard velcro gloves in the classic Thai shape, plus two lace-ups:

The shin guards

Top King shin guards use thick, contoured padding — which makes them one of the better choices for anyone still learning to check properly. A beginner takes more kicks on a less conditioned shin, and more foam is genuinely the right answer at that stage.

As you condition and your checks sharpen, you may want something lighter. But start here.

Top King is widely counterfeited. Be wary of anything discounted 50% or more below RRP — you can establish the real figure by checking three or four retailers, since it is usually consistent. Everything here is genuine and sourced through authenticated channels.
