Mongkol
Mongkol are a Thai brand who make solid, traditional equipment at a sensible price. There is no marketing story here and no design gimmick — just gear that does the job, made where the sport comes from.
If you are kitting out a gym on a budget, or buying your first serious set of equipment, they are worth a proper look.
The gloves
- BGM01 — the standard glove. Straightforward, well built, and priced well below the big Thai names.
- BGM04 Premium — the step up, in better materials.
Standard weights apply: 16oz for sparring, 12oz for bags and pads.
The shin pads
The SGM01 uses thick, generous padding — which makes it one of the better choices for someone still learning to check properly. A beginner takes more kicks on a less conditioned shin, and more foam is genuinely the right answer at that stage.
Important: the Mongkol shin guard size chart is significantly different from Fairtex and SKS Empire. The same height gives you a different shin length across all three. Do not assume your size carries across — measure your shin length and calf circumference and match them to the Mongkol chart specifically. Our shin guard size guide puts the charts side by side.
The pads and mitts
- KGM02 — single-strap Thai kick pads. Traditional construction, and priced well for a gym buying several pairs.
- PMM02 — strike mitts.
- PMM03 — focus mitts.

Who Mongkol suits
Beginners buying a first proper set, and gyms buying in volume. You are not paying for a name, and it shows in the price rather than the build.
